About Jade Power Sotomayor
 
Jade is a dancer, actor and scholar of performance who works to create connections between performance, cultural production, education and local community. She completed a Master's degree in Latin American Studies in 2006 at UCSD and is currently a PhD candidate writing her dissertation "Speaking Bodies and Speaking the Body: Body Bilinguality in Latina/o Performance." Her work focuses body-centered performance, the intersections between race, gender and language, and on inter-cultural performance in the Latin Caribbean disapora. She holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts and Biology from UC Santa Cruz.
