About Julie Burelle

Julie Burelle's research focuses on Québécois and First Nations theatre and performance. She is particularly interested in how these two groups' cultural and national identities intersect and collide through performance. Originally from Montréal, Julie earned her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Theatre at the University of Toronto. She has served as a dramaturg for The Robbers directed by Johanna Schall (University of Toronto) and for Kasimir and Karoline directed by Larissa Lury (UC San Diego). Her play Le Fil d'Ariane, developed through an internship with Marionetas de la Esquina in Mexico City, was presented in Toronto in 2008.
