About Sandra Doller


Sandra Doller began her studies in Theatre & Dance at Amherst College, receiving a BA in Women Studies from the University of Washington, and completing an MA at University of Chicago and an MFA at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. A recipient of the Paul Engle-James Michener Fellowship, the Iowa Arts Fellowship, and two individual state artist awards, Doller is the founder & editrice of the inter-arts journal & small press, 1913. Sandra has taught at alternative schools as well as Cornell College, Hollins, Boise State, and California State University. The author of several plays, performance pieces, and three books of poetry, Doller regularly publishes creative work as well as essays and translations. Winner of the 2012 Translation Prize from Anomalous Press for Mystérieuse by Éric Suchère, her most recent book is Man Years from Subito Press (UC Boulder, 2011), with a cross-genre chapbook called Memory of the Prose Machine forthcoming (CutBank, 2013). Sandra’s interests include text, body, and hybridity, as well as conceptual, interdisciplinary, and aleatory performance.
