Stage Management Guest Faculty for 2007
Wendeline de Zan (Managing Complex Relationships) is an educator, attorney, mediator, and executive coach. She has taught and coached at some of the world's leading professional service firms and multinational corporations, including Citibank, Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers, Microsoft, and Northrop Grumman. She facilitates courses at the Rady School of Management and at the Jacobs School of Engineering. Her expertise includes negotiation, mediation, building trust and rapport, MBTI®, assertiveness, collaboration, giving and receiving feedback, influence, conflict management, creativity, group dynamics, facilitation, business writing, sales, and presentations.
Robert Drake (Production Management) has over 25 years experience in the legitimate theatre and related disciplines, and is currently the Director of Production for the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. Robert has also worked as a Production Supervisor for television commercials.
Leila Knox (Advanced Stage Management Topics) has stage managed Dirty Blonde, Amour, and One Mo' Time on Broadway, and also served as the Production Supervisor of the National Tour of Dirty Blonde. She has stage managed at Lincoln Center, Manhattan Theater Club, Second Stage, Berkeley Rep, SITI Company, Playwrights Horizons, Huntington Theatre, and spent 11 seasons with the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Leila has been the Production Stage Manager at The Old Globe since 2003.
Steven B. Libman (Executive Leadership in the Performing Arts) has been the Managing Director of the La Jolla Playhouse since June 2005. His career in the performing arts spans more than 20 years of executive leadership in the theater, dance and presenting disciplines. As Managing Director and in partnership with Artistic Director Designate Christopher Ashley, he serves as executive producer for the company. From 1991 to 2004, he served as the Managing Director for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, after serving as Development Director from 1987 to 1991. During his 17-year tenure at PBT, Steven raised over $50 million and produced over 20 original ballets, including groundbreaking works set to the music of Sting, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, and Gunther Schuller.
David O'Brien (Stage Management Process: Musicals) has been a Production Stage Manager in New York since 1993. He has stage managed the Broadway productions of The Pajama Game with Harry Connick, Jr., Sweet Charity with Christina Applegate, Fiddler on the Roof with Alfred Molina, Noises Off with Patti LuPone, Neil Simon's The Dinner Party with Henry Winkler and John Ritter, Stones in His Pockets, Guys and Dolls, and the final four years of Cats. David also served as the Production Supervisor for the Broadway and National tour of Cats from 1997- 2000 and has been the Production Stage Manager for many National and International companies. David is currently the stage managing the Broadway revival of Grease.
Ben Thoron (Technical Management) has been the technical director at The Old Globe Theatre since 2000. Prior to that, he was the Technical Director for Sterling Productions and the Production Manager at the Dallas Theatre Center. Ben holds a MFA from the Yale School of Drama. |
