Biography

Kara Raphaeli is a fourth-year PhD student, having completed an MA in Theatre from Hunter College. Her areas of interest include contemporary activist performance, in particular documentary theatre and theatrical activity in the Palestinian Israeli conflict, as well as contemporary adaptation of Ancient Greek theatre. Kara has directed and produced in New York for the past decade, including performances at the New York Fringe Festival, Midtown International Festival, Planet Connections Festivity and the New York Avant Garde Arts Festival (winner, Best Director, 2012).
