An artist through and through, A-lan Holt is a poet of texture. Many of her friends in Northern California would say, "You could go from art gallery to playhouse to coffee shop all in one day and see A-lan's work unfold." She is a playwright who has studied with Cherrie Moraga, Amy Freed, and Djanet Sears. Her plays, including The Sweetest Gift, Beyond My Circle (co-written), and most recently 8Ball, have been performed in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and in Kampala, Uganda. This June, A-lan graduates from Stanford University.
