To All Potential MFA Stage Management Applicants: The UC San Diego MFA Stage Management program will not be accepting any incoming MFA Applicants in Fall 2024.

Elaborate on your views of the role of the stage manager in the creative process as well as the reasons why pursuing an advanced degree is central to your purpose. Highlight the ways you promote anti-racism and anti-oppression within the production process.
  • A copy of sample paperwork from your most complex show (sample pages of a contact sheet, character/scene breakdown, prop plot, production calendar, and scene shift plot, rehearsal and performance reports), as well as anything else you feel is representative of your work, and a copy of one scene from the same production with complete blocking and cueing notes. Do not send an entire production script.
  • Three letters of recommendation from individuals that can speak to both your academic and creative abilities.
