About the Show

The Rogue's Trial by Ariano Suassuna is a beloved Brazilian "morality" play set in the drylands - With a blend of Commedia, Clowning, and Brazilian folktales, we follow mischievous John Cricket and his bestie, Chicó, as they navigate broken systems of power.

About the Director

Ludmila de Brito is a third-year MFA Directing student at UCSD - She believes in the transformative power of our stories. 

Most recently, Ludmila directed The Promise by José Rivera, Comedy of Errors,  Emily J. Daly's episode of the MTARadioPlays (Rattlestick) as well as Project Transform (Hartford Stage) in collaboration with Nilaja Sun. United World Colleges and NTI alum, Ludmila is a Lin Manuel Miranda Family Fellow. Ludy has assisted Jenna Worsham in The Siblings Play by Ren Dara Santiago at Rattlestick and Megan Sandberg-Zakian in Much Ado at the Boston Common. As an educator, she has worked with Westerville South Theatre, Hartford Stage, and the National Theater Institute at the O'Neill.
